Registered nurses and licensed practical nurses at Life Care at Home agencies provide skilled/intermittent care services that cannot be performed safely and effectively by nonprofessional personnel. They are also responsible for supervising the care provided by the agencies' home health aides. Every 14 days, RNs either accompany the aides on home site visits or make the visits alone to ensure customer satisfaction and quality of care.
Patients needing skilled/intermittent care may require injections, dressing changes, instruction in their disease process or the administration of medication. Some common diagnoses for those requiring skilled/intermittent care include diabetes, cancer, congestive heart failure and wound care.
