Speech Language Pathologist


Description Summary:

  • The speech language pathologist provides rehabilitative care for patients needing assistance and training with communication, cognition, and dysphagia.
  • The SLP works as part of the interdisciplinary team including RN, LPN, PT, PTA, OT, COTA, MSW and home health aides.
  • The SLP reports to the clinical coordinator.

 

Education and Experience Summary:

  • Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech pathology or audiology granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a ST
  • ST experience with dysphagia required
  • Home health experience preferred
  • Able to evaluate patient needs through ongoing assessment and revise care plans based on changes in patient condition
  • Must have CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance with reliable transportation to travel to patient homes per patient schedule and agency needs.
