Occupational Therapist
Description Summary:
- The occupational therapist provides rehabilitative care for patients needing assistance and training in activities of daily living.
- Works as part of the interdisciplinary team including RN, LPN, PT, PTA, COTA, SLP, MSW and home health aides.
- The OT supervises COTAs and home health aides as determined by state law.
- The OT reports to the rehab manager or clinical coordinator.
Education and Experience Summary:
- Graduate of an occupational therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association or be eligible for the National registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association or must have 2 years appropriate experience as an OT along with satisfactory grade on proficiency exam sponsored by US Public Health Service
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an OT
- Home health experience preferred
- Able to evaluate patient needs through ongoing assessment and revise care plans based on changes in patient condition
- CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance with reliable transportation to travel to patient homes per patient schedule and agency needs.
